The Finnish Literature Programme in the German-speaking countries will be launched at the Leipzig Book Fair, 13–16 March 2014. On Thursday, 13 March we will hold the FINNLAND. COOL. press conference, presenting the Finnish Literature Programme, the Finnland. Cool. strategy and a satellite programme coordinated by the Finnish Institute in Germany, which will also be launched in Leipzig.
The Finnish authors at the Leipzig Book Fair are Hanna Hauru, Tuomas Kyrö, Veronica Lassenius, Niina Lehtonen Braun, Tomi Mäkelä, Aki Ollikainen, Timo Parvela, Susanne Ringell, Juhani Seppovaara and Seita Vuorela and along with the comic artists Roope Eronen, Aino Sutinen and Ville Tietäväinen. Also attending will be the translators Elina Kritzokat, Helen Moster and Stefan Moster.
Finland will be on display at a joint Nordic stand (4 C403) and in the Finnland. Cool. programme in connection with the Frankfurt Book Fair (4 B501). This means that a record number of Finnish titles will be presented in Leipzig. This fair is the most important book event in Germany after the Frankfurt Book Fair and it is aimed more at the general public.
