Miina Supinen (b. 1976 in Helsinki) is often described as an ‘unwilling humourist’. Her debut novel, Liha tottelee kuria (‘Jelly Control’), is a comedy about a totally dysfunctional family and takes things right up to the limit of painful humour. In Säde (‘Ray Girl’), her latest story about a love triangle, science meets the occult, and love and sex meet at the site of an archaeological dig in Finland.
Prior to her career as a writer, Supinen studied journalism at university and worked at the Finnish news agency. Besides fiction, she also writes a column for Image, a Finnish lifestyle magazine.
