Sari Luhtanen (b. 1951) is known for her cheeky girls’ books. She and her co-author Miikko Oikkonen created a genuine hit in Finland and abroad with their Nymphs (Nymfit) series of books, which is also a TV series. In the books, Greek mythical heroines are transplanted to contemporary Helsinki. In order to survive, the modern-day nymphs must seduce a man on the night of every full moon. If they fall in love, though, the man will die.
Sari Luhtanen studied English, drama and literature in Helsinki. She did the Finnish broadcast subtitles for American TV series including The Simpsons and Frasier. For two decades, she collaborated with illustrator Tiina Paju on the popular comic ‘Maisa & Kaarina’ about two best friends.
